Storage tanks and pipework at a petroleum industry facility

Oil & Gas

Materials for operational continuity

nudu identifies material shortages and documentation gaps before scheduled maintenance, with approval rules defined by each operation.

A part in stock, pending acceptance

A valve can be recorded in inventory while its documentation is still under review. Material readiness depends on the acceptance status and the maintenance requirement.

Applications in material readiness

These applications are configured for each operation. Availability depends on accessible data and approved integrations.

Materials for planned shutdowns

Requirements by work order. nudu compares the approved maintenance material list with reservations and purchase confirmations to identify unresolved shortages.

Case record. Outstanding material requirements linked to the maintenance window and responsible team.

Material documentation

Documents linked to the purchase. nudu checks for required certificates and compares part or lot identifiers with the order, using the operation’s acceptance rules.

Case record. Missing or inconsistent documentation assigned to Quality for technical review.

Purchase order follow-up

Confirmation against the required date. nudu requests supplier updates and records changes in quantity or availability that affect the maintenance plan.

Case record. A documented deviation with the supplier’s response and an approval request when needed.

Supplier records

Validity of required documents. nudu compares supplier files with the approved checklist and requests renewals when documents expire.

Case record. An updated review file for Procurement; supplier qualification remains subject to approval.

Illustrative example

A valve with incomplete documentation

  1. 01

    Requirement

A work order requires a valve whose purchase order specifies a material certificate.

  2. 02

    Discrepancy

The receipt is recorded, but the document file lacks the certificate linked to that lot.

  3. 03

    Review

nudu requests the missing document from the supplier and sends the response to Quality. Technical acceptance remains pending.

  4. 04

    Resolution

Following Quality approval, nudu records the decision through the authorised integration. The evidence remains linked to the material.

Implementation

An initial, defined scope

Required data
The pilot requires maintenance material lists with required dates and inventory records that distinguish reserved or blocked stock. Purchase orders and the document repository provide the supporting evidence.
Approval rules
Engineering approves technical substitutions; Quality approves material acceptance. The scope covers procurement coordination. Process control, operating limits and safety systems remain outside the automation.

Pilot evaluation

  • Maintenance requirements with material pending
  • Time to resolve documentation gaps
  • Purchase orders without a confirmed date
  • Cases reopened after technical review

The pilot compares these measures with the operation’s baseline. Targets are agreed after the initial assessment.

An initial scope for Oil & Gas

The initial assessment defines the process and the data available for a pilot.
